Oscars 2023: As Indian film ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ took home the award for Best Documentary Short at the 95th Academy Awards, the country went into celebration mode and took to social media to congratulate the team for the historic win.

The Netflix documentary beat out “Hailout,” “The Martha Mitchell Effect,” “Stranger at the Gate” and “How Do You Measure a Year” to win the 2023 Oscar.

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal congratulated Union Elephants for their big win at Oscars 2023.

“Loud and clear! Congratulations to #TheElephantWisperers for winning the #Oscars,” she tweeted.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the team has made every Indian proud with its success.

“Huge congratulations to the entire team behind ‘Elephant Whisperers’ for winning the Oscar for Best Documentary Short. You have made every Indian proud,” he wrote.

“Baahubali” actor Rana Daggubati also encouraged the team of this film on Twitter.

“A heartwarming story of love and coexistence in harmony with nature; a beautiful story of Bowman, Belly and the baby elephant Raghu set in Tamil Nadu. The Elephant Whisperers won the Oscar for Best Documentary Short at the 95th Academy Awards. “Congratulations,” Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur tweeted.

TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu commented, “Congratulations to Kartiki Gonsalves and team for creating history by winning the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short for #TheElephant Whisperers. You have made us all proud today!”

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said, “The heartwarming story of India’s efforts to protect elephants from the Madumalai Forest Reserve has brought accolades to the country and made every Indian proud. Congratulations @guneetm for winning the #Oscar for Best Documentary Film & Short. Really. Well deserved.”

Hindi film director Madhoor Bhandarkar said: “Huge congratulations to Kartiki Gonsalves and @guneetm The Elephant Whisperers for winning @TheAcademy Award for Best Documentary Short and also to @mmkeeravaani with Chandrabose for Best Original Song making Oscar history this year created. #Oscar.”
